Disclaimer: Not sure if this is the right place to post. My apologies in advance, I thought that you guys would be the most knowledgeable, and prior to, the most active community.
1.) Are tailors able to work with 50/50 NYCO (Nylon cotton ripstop) fabric? It’s very thick and known for its durability. I’ve been told that they just use denim needles, but I’m not sure. I’ve also wanted to get into sewing this material myself. It’s a combat uniform.
2.) My uniform has built in removable kneepads with some fairly complex stitching in different parts. Would I be able to ask a tailor to do a general “reinforcement” of the material to make sure that the stitching doesn’t give? The pants I purchased are made with a high quality material but the stitching and level of quality control is iffy.
3.) Can I still ask a tailor to make the item fit better even if it velcro adjustment points (behind the knee and at the ankle)?
Thank you for taking the time to help me out, I’m 18 and have never utilized or been to a tailor before. Thank you.
